BeyGOOD and Global Citizen partnered to create the Global Citizen Fellowship program in South Africa. The multi-year program, supported by filmmaker Tyler Perry, equipped South African fellows with the necessary skills to thrive in any professional environment. Through curriculum aligned with Global Citizen’s four pillars—creative, campaigns, rewards, and marketing—the fellowship provided hands-on experience in social impact work. Fellows were immersed in digital technology, storytelling strategies, and the importance of building lasting professional relationships. They also engaged with industry leaders who serve on the program’s advisory council.
Over the course of four years, the program supported 50 young leaders, empowering them to become active contributors to social change through digital activism. It encouraged participants to recognize and embrace their role in a broader mission: mobilizing communities and driving collective action toward the eradication of extreme poverty.
