Homecoming Scholars

The Homecoming Scholars program was launched following Mrs. Beyoncé's historic Coachella performance, serving as an homage to excellence in education and a celebration of the homecoming weekend experience.

The program awarded $25,000 scholarships to one student from Xavier University, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University — all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Following the second weekend of Coachella, Google.org partnered with BeyGOOD to expand the program’s impact, adding four additional HBCUs: Fisk University, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, and Morehouse College. The 2018-2019 disciplines include literature, creative arts, African American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science, engineering and more.

"Thank you for investing in my future when I needed it most. Your generosity didn’t just help me pay a bill, it helped me step into my purpose. I carry that gift forward every day, and I hope to honor it by serving my patients and community with excellence and compassion," Willis said.
