Jay Brown is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the music industry. In 2008, Brown co-founded Roc Nation and has overseen its evolution from a boutique company to an international, cultural powerhouse. Leading the industry in every aspect of modern entertainment, Roc Nation supports its diverse roster of talent via artist management, music publishing, touring, production, strategic brand development and beyond.
In March 2019, Brown co-founded the venture capital firm Marcy Venture Partners, now known as MarcyPen, alongside Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Robbie Robinson and D’Rita Robinson. The firm focuses on building innovative businesses and mass-market brands that resonate culturally across products and services, as well as media and technology. MarcyPen invests in companies that promote positive values such as sustainability, empowerment, inclusivity, accessibility, convenience, health and wellness, and personal expression.
Brown also co-founded several client brands and currently serves on several boards.
