Mai Lassiter sits at the intersection of philanthropy, culture, and storytelling, building institutions and investing in ideas that move communities forward. As a founding member of BeyGOOD, she has played a central role in shaping a modern model of philanthropy that is responsive, globally minded, and rooted in real-time impact across education, entrepreneurship, and crisis response.
Her career reflects a blend of governance leadership and creative vision. She has guided organizations through periods of growth and transformation, contributing to strategic direction, capital campaigns, and long-term sustainability across the nonprofit sector. Mai also served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and as a member of the Democratic Party’s National Finance Committee.
Mai spent ten years as Vice President of Marketing at Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records, where she led high-impact campaigns for some of the world’s most influential artists. Today, she continues to shape culture as an investor in high-growth consumer brands and as a marketing and branding consultant.
As a partner at women-led film venture, she champions the next generation of filmmakers, supporting bold storytelling through funding and development. She is currently developing her first documentary project.
Mai holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and, above all, is a mother of three.
