Janna L. Perry, J.D.
Board Liaison
Janna Perry is a legal strategist, social impact leader, humanitarian, and advocate committed to advancing equity and creating meaningful social change. With training and experience spanning legal strategy, philanthropy, government, nonprofit leadership, and entertainment, Janna brings a multidisciplinary approach to developing strategies and initiatives that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
A proud graduate of Spelman College, the nation's top-ranked HBCU, Janna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science before obtaining her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School. She also holds a certificate in DEI Strategy and Planning.
While at Spelman, Janna was honored to serve as Miss Spelman College 2017-2018 and was nationally recognized by EBONY Magazine as a Top 10 HBCU Campus Queen. Her longstanding commitment to social impact and youth empowerment—particularly for women and girls of color—has shaped a career across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. She has held roles with organizations including the New York State Democratic Party, The Walt Disney Company, and Girls Inc.
Throughout her career, Janna has leveraged her legal education, strategic leadership, and commitment to service to advocate for underserved communities and help advance mission-driven initiatives. Her advocacy has included work supporting at-risk students, women who are survivors of sex trafficking, and individuals impacted by the criminal legal system.
In 2014, Janna was named the Grand Prize Winner of Mrs. Carter's "I RISE" Contest. Today, she is honored to bring her leadership, strategic perspective, legal training, and commitment to social impact to BeyGOOD.
Outside of her professional work, Janna is a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and remains deeply committed to service, community empowerment, and creating pathways for the next generation of leaders. Janna enjoys music, live shows and performances, television and film, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
